The Chuckanut Chowder Cookoff and the world's only Piano Race are the agenda for the second day of our festival. Perfect blue skies, temperatures almost up to 60 and warm sun made it a perfect day.

Colophon Cafe Chowder entry. Sunday is the Chuckanut Chowder Cookoff. This year, 17 restaurants and caterers entered. We think we have a photo of each here.

So I try the same angle. Wow. There were a lot of us enjoying great chowders today.

Getting bread and a bowl. After tasting tiny amounts of each chowder, a ticket holder would come get a bowl and then go to the vendor with their favorite chowder and turn in their ticket in exchange for a bowl of chowder. The vendor with the most tickets at the end of the day wins.

Avenue Bread provided the free bread for all the bowls and also had a booth competing.

The esteemed judges, from left, Stephan Wells, Dirty Dan Harris and Joel Terrida. The Cookoff had two sets of prizes - the judges' choices and the people's choices. Of course the judges did blind tasting so they had no idea who's chowder they were rating.
