Fairhaven Runners Waterfront 15K Run and Walk, Sep 13, 2008. Over 700 registered runners and walkers participated in this 4th annual event. Each year about mid September it is held. Check annual events for the 2009 date and registration information.

Sponsor Mizuno shoes had a table on the Village Green.

The food was being set out for the runners to enjoy after the race.

Steve Roguski, co-owner of Fairhaven Runners & Walkers with his wife Genevie, announces information before the start of the race.

The Village Green at 8:15 am prior to the race as participants got their number bibs.

Three tables with volunteer staff provided the number bibs to runners.

The gun goes off and over 700 start forward from the heart of the Fairhaven Historic District.

They are off - with the fastest runners towards the front. That is race sponsor Fairhaven Runners shop on the far left behind the KGMI van.

Towards the back of the runners are those who are walking.

Over 700 runners go north on 11th past the Fairhaven shops and towards Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham, 5 miles to the north.

For over an hour the runners finished on 10th Street to the applause of friends and family.

The fruit, eats and drinks after the race were provided by the Food Pavillion.

The Dagwoods played for the morning crowd. Rock music in the morning. Why not.
