Starting at Marine Park in Fairhaven, it follows the Interurban trail to Larrabee State Park (the oldest state park in Washington) on Chuckanut Drive. It's also a place for a number of Bellingham Parks & Rec events. Today, athletes of all skill levels can enjoy a fun road bike duathlon--the Padden Duathlon 1/3 Less Race. Run 2.6 miles around the lake, bike 14.5 miles out, around and back from Lake Samish, then run 2.6 miles again--and no swimming.
