Young cinematographers exploit Dan Harris

Our bronze statue of Fairhaven founder Daniel Jefferson Harris is perhaps the best used prop in Fairhaven.  Here students from a cinematography class at Western Washington University in Bellingham use Dan for a movie short.  Lydia - the budding actress sitting next to Dan - was going into Village Books with her parents this afternoon when the students asked her to be in their movie.  Sean, the fellow in the green jacket, is shown setting up a shot with his fellow students while Catherine explains the shot to the actress.  I won’t go into the plot here - but hope the students might send us the final cinema as a podcast that we can post on this website.  And we’ll give full credit.

One of the fun things about walking in Fairhaven is all the things you see going on.  It is a lively historic district.  Every day Dan is photographed with kids, families or friends grouped around him for travel snapshots.  And he is always a perfect gentleman about it - keeping his slight smile and patience.  Oh, and one way to get into the movies is to take your parents shopping in Fairhaven.
