Volunteers landscape grounds of new Hospice House

Over 100 members of Keller Williams Realty worked all day to landscape the grounds of the new Hospice House nearing completion on Douglas Avenue.  Here Chris dumps more fertile mulch for the entry way flowers - while Rita and Keri prepare it for planings.  Volunteers pruned and thinned overgrown bushes, tended the wetlands, rejuvenated the lawns, and planted many new perennial flowering plants.

The Whatcom Hospice Foundation has conducted a several year long funding drive with much community support.  The new Hospice House is only a mile from Fairhaven and is in a quiet part of the Happy Valley neighborhood.  Anyone who has ever cared for a dying person can appreciate the value and worth of a comfortable place that respects the dignity of each patient.  We hope Fairhaven can be supportive of this House as it begins service early this fall.
