The Blue Skies for Children foot race starts off on 11th Steet in Fairhaven. More than 80 people ran the enjoyable 4.5 miles of this benefit for homeless, low income, and foster children in Whatcom County. There are almost 6,000 children living below the poverty level in Whatcom County. Steve Rugoski, owner of Fairhaven Runners, helped organize, promote and started the races.

Yep, these four little ones
ran and walked the mile to help benefit other kids. This event will be held again next year, and we hope more young ones will participate.
