Trail maintenance by Village Books volunteers

This photo is not what one might call “exciting” but it illustrates something that is very much part of Fairhaven.  Community spirit.  Here Charissa of Bellingham Parks Department gives a briefing on weeding around the small bushes recently planted along the trail.  The stretch of the South Bay Trail from Douglas Avenue to Mill Avenue is maintained by volunteers of Village Books.  They have been maintaining this for several years.  Yes, that is Chuck back there - and he also spent much time weeding.  Community involvemnet helps Fairhaven to be a pleasant place to visit.  We invite you down.
