Rain Festival this coming Saturday at Noon<< Back to archives | Wednesday, February 4, 2009
The rain gear fashion show is a big part of the annual Official Pacific Northwest Rain Festival - and these young ones at last year’s fest are showing off their finest. Prizes are awarded for the fun judging. There is also rain poetry for adults - with prizes - and we have two very literary types for our poetry judging this year. All fun and a way to celebrate something during the middle of our long rainy season in the Northwest. As can be seen, sunshine wrecked last year’s festival. That is Amy Electra Squires, the adult in charge of the fashion show. Or doing her best to be in charge. These young ones all have their own ideas. 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Saturday, February 7. On the Village Green. The fashion show is open to any young ones. Free. No registration. Just show up. Same for poetry - we ask it be a poem you have written and can be read in a minute or less. By you, of course. Prizes for the winners donated by Fairhaven merchants and restaurants. Not a poet? Come and enjoy the fun. Hope for rain. A cloudy day with possible rain is predicted. |
