New Persian Carpets at Fairhaven Rug Gallery

Fairhaven Rug Gallery has just received 700 new Persian rugs.  That is 10,000 pounds of rugs.  All in the past few days.  Here we see Heather inventorying a stack of the new rugs, as she is literally surrounded by magnificent, beautiful rugs.  And this view is only a fraction of all the rugs in the gallery.  It is just an amazing experience to enter this gallery for the first time. 

Gallery owner Arshia has just come back from a 7 week buying trip to Iran.  He managed to get this shipment cleared for export into the U.S. on September 28, the last day before our country imposed an embargo on all Iranian rug imports.  These carpets were actually flown from Europe by Air France to Seattle where Arshia took delivery of them.  It took quite a bit of effort and skill to get these from Iran to his gallery here in Fairhaven.  Arshia and Heather Fathali invite you to visit their gallery, open Tuesdays through Sundays and Mondays by appointment.
