Dirty Dan Harris, the founder of Fairhaven in 1853, paid the Village Green a visit Monday afternoon and showed us his skill at Bocce Ball. Each Monday afternoon at 5 pm, people show up to play the game, with several being folks who have never played before. The Bocce courts have been provided by Tom McNutt, who sells them through his Boccemon website. Rumor has it a nearby restaurant is purchasing a court they will rent out. Dan, portrayed by Tip Johnson, was pretty good. He did doff those woolens after the photo was taken. It was 82 degrees on the Village Green.
