Great Evening for Gallery Walk<< Back to archives | Friday, November 25, 2005
Below is just a touch of the great many shops and galleries in full holiday decor this evening. To enjoy all the sights, music and fun, bring yourself down on Saturday evening.
Young Thomas Harris and his saxophone made beautiful music at Village Books this evening. All the shops in the Historic District are decorated for Christmas and the holidays. This Friday evening was the first of our two-evening annual Holiday Gallery Walk. Come join us on Saturday evening.
At Renaissance Celebration, James - left in window - helps customers select glass works that crowd his shop. Lights are everywhere in Fairhaven - in shops, across building tops and along the streets.
Northland Specialties also had music - Scandinavian music, of course. Jim Myers plays a nyckelharpa, an instrument from Sweden that has been played for over 600 years. The one he is playing he made himself. A sweet music between a dulcimer and violin - at least to my ear.
Story time in the back of Village Books - in the Kids books area where there are several cozy places. Here Mike reads a story and Sarah explains a toy house to little ones. Saturday evening will be the second night or our annual Holiday Gallery Walk. The weather should be clear and crisp. We invite you to drive to Fairhaven and enjoy the evening. Perhaps even start with dinner in one of our many fine dining places. You can pick up a walking map from any participating shop, or - click the map to download a PDF file of the map for easy printing at your personal computer. Lighting of the tree lights behind Skylark’s restaurant (19) plus choral singing will start at 5 pm on the cobblestone walkway. Late addition to Walk is Spoiled Rotten, next to VIE (1) Check the Events Page for all events |
