Flag Comes Down Last Time<< Back to archives | Tuesday, July 27, 2004
The flagpole will be moved tomorrow morning and the flag will be raised again on Saturday morning - in its new location across the street. The pole is 100 feet tall. It was made from a single cedar tree from up the Nooksak River. The veterans who first raised the flag in 1987 took it down. Ebenal Construction is moving our Fairhaven Veterans Memorial to a perhaps better location on the pie-shaped public property across the street from the Library. It is all happening this week. The Time Capsule Comes Out
The time capsule was taken out this noon from the base of the flagpole. Here, Arnie Larsen and Bob Abbot, two of the guys who placed it in concrete in 1987, hold it. They then took it across the street to its new vault for cementing in. |
At New Location - 1307 11th
Across street from Skylarks. More seating, including outside tables. Now open for lunch every day except Mondays.
