Fantastic fun with perfect weather for Halloween<< Back to archives | Tuesday, November 1, 2011
As it has for several years now, the weather magically cleared for Halloween eve in Fairhaven. And the kids dragged their happy parents up and down Harris Avenue and all the side streets. The historic district was packed. Above is 11th Street showing the 1800s buildings and the fun that everyone had. It was just a fun and perfect evening for all - merchants, parents and the little ones.
Gordy Tweit took hundreds of photos of all the costumed folks at the Fairhaven Pharmacy, marking the 49th year he has done this. All ages, from infants to grand folks, were enjoying Gordy’s generosity. Gordy is the retired pharmacist and he is assisted each year by the current pharmacist Rob and the staff. It is their annual gift to the Fairhaven community and we thank them for it. Photos are no charge and will be ready for pickup in a few days. We will post a notice at the top of this page when they are ready.
DAvid, of Papa’s Sweets, surrounded by potential tricksters as he doles out candies.
The Toy Garden invited the little ones and their parents into the store to get the treats.
Bay to Baker also invited the little ones in - and this guy is just really appreciative of that bit of candy. Batman looks like he better get just as nice a piece, or else.
Jody at Southside Trends met them at the door. Yep, the merchants really got into costumes also.
Nancy at Artwood Gallery - the lady bug gives a treat to superman.
James of Renaissance Celebration is his usual Halloween chair provides candy to a fellow who looks like he knows how to count candies - and James better get it right.
A look up Harris Avenue showing the crowded sidewalks. Our hat is doffed to all the business owners and employees who prepared their shop windows, bought all the sweets, dressed up in costumes and made the afternoon a fun and exciting event for all the little ones - and also for their parents. |
