Over 240 more names were engraved on the brick pavers around the Village Green these past two days. Above, Dave Grabosky sprays blackening through the stencil and onto the engraved paver bricks.

The engraving crew has spent two days cutting names into about 240 brick pavers around the Village Green. From left, Luon Loth, Dave Grabosky and Sok Khorn of Kenadar Corp in Seattle.

(June 26) On the Village Green, over 200 bricks are being engraved with the names of donors to the Village Green Fund. The photo shows Luon Loth sandblasting a name into a brick.

Here is the very careful preparation for the sandblasting. After the name is cut into the brick, a black paint is sprayed on, resulting in a permanent engraving. Folks contributed $50 to the maintenance fund for the Village Green for each engraved paver brick.

Contributions are now being taken for the next engraving session. You can order in person at the Farmers Market on Wednesdays, or at several locations around Bellingham. Click here for a page of information about how to get your name or family name engraved on a brick.
