Driving on the Alaska Ferry

Driving to Alaska via the ferry is the start of some great vacations. Here, Virgil, the chief purser of the Malaspina, is checking the tickets as cars, trucks and campers board for the Tuesday evening sailing. Next stop is Ketchikan Alaska, on Thursday morning, 36 hours out from Fairhaven. The ferry continues on to Sitka, Skagway and other towns before returning to Fairhaven the next Tuesday.

Many folks taking the Ferry arrive here a day or two ahead of schedule to enjoy Fairhaven - and to make sure they are not late for the ferry. Plus, Fairhaven is a great place to buy items needed for their trip. We in Fairhaven invite all Alaska-bound travelers to spend a day here before boarding. You will enjoy it.
