A restoration this summer of the brick facade of the 120 years old Knights of Phythias building has revealed again its detail and beauty.  The Phythias were a mens association in the 1800s and they met in a ballroom on the top floor.  Over the decades, the building has seen stores for hardware, clothing, variety, books.  Several other organizations met in the upper floors for many decades.  Today, Pacific Chef, Colophon and Drizzle occupy the building.

The upper floors have been vacant for decades.  And will remain vacant until the building is renovated.  It is the last major historic building in the historic district of Fairhaven that needs renovation.
