Dale McKinnon sounds the starting horn as the rowers sit prepared to dig in for the 8.5 mile race around Chuckanut Island this morning. A beautiful morning greeted us and seven boats signed up for this second annual event. Rowers start at 8 am and the paddlers start at 10 am. Local boat builder ACB is helping provide safety on the route along with the Pacific County Technical Rescue group. This event travels a beautiful course and will grow in popularity in future years. We thank the safety folks and welcome the rowers. |
