Cyclists race through the streets near Fairhaven

With the historic Waldron building jutting into the view of Bellingham Bay, cyclists turn the corner at 17th onto the downhill run of McKenzie Avenue in today’s criterium races.  Cyclists from all over Washington State are here for three days of races in Whatcom County.  This race did not go through the historic district, although several years ago a criterium did do just that and was very well liked by the racers.  Perhaps again in the future.  The races attract not only the riders but their friends and supporters.  We hope they had time after the races to enjoy the nightlife of Fairhaven.
