Bocce Ball in Fairhaven

Attn: Join us Mon, July 14 at 5 pm to try Bocce.

They play it on town greens in every country in the world, and the game goes back thousands of years. This evening it was introduced to our Village Green. Above, two games are in progress. We are hoping that these portable game sets will be available soon for rental from a shop bordering the Green.



That winning form. Chuck Robinson, who is co-owner of Village Books, tries out Bocce. The idea is to toss - roll - your ball closer to the small white ball than your opponents. Good luck, Chuck. (He can also knock the other ball out.) Twenty or so of us tried out the game this evening and found it more fun than it appeared to be when watching. We hope it becomes availabe to all on the Village Green.
