Soup and a sandwich is served to Mark by Danny as owner Wendy Defreest looks on. Avenue Bread, long a favorite bakery in downtown Bellingham, has opened a new location in the Fairhaven Gardens building at 1135 11th - just a half block up from Village Books.

Featuring artisan breads that are locally famous, plus great pastries, sandwiches, soups and expresso, this shop will be open from 7 am to 6 pm every day. Stop by and check them out. You can have lunch most any time of day. Photo by Taimi Gorman.
