A Cold and Snowy Day<< Back to archives | Friday, January 7, 2005
Winter wonderland? Not exactly. Most shops were closed. Village Books was open, but is closing at 6 pm. Some restaurants are providing great hospitality and warmth. This view is looking uphill on Harris Avenue from 10th Street. Cold? At 5 pm it is about 29 degrees with a cold north wind. ‘Tis a winter we get only once every few years.
We got about 4 inches of snow since yesterday’s photo below. This is the same view downhill on Harris Avenue, showing the 12th Street intersection. Yes, Harris is slippery. Fairhaven Pharmacy stayed open all day, as they do no matter the weather. |
