At Fairhaven Runners & Walkers on 11th Street, get one-on-one attention from a physical therapist, who will assess pain or injury, do a gait analysis to examine running or walking biomechanics, evaluate your range of motion and strength, and give tips for improvement.

A NEW Fairhaven Runners & Walkers free weekly drop-in run, the All Paces Run is to help you get fit, get inspired, and have some fun. The store's staff (Steve, Chad, Lindsay, and Tara) will lead a 30- to 45-minute run, open to all paces--from beginners to veterans--starting from the store on 11th Street. Special prizes and awards will be offered along the runs. After, the store invites participants for a warm drink (winter, colder nights) . On the darker nights, a headlamp or flashlight is recommended.

At the Firehouse: Conversations - a Dance/Theatre Piece
The past three years Pam Kuntz has generated four separate dance/theatre events featuring community members and their compelling stories. On several evenings in January, Kuntz's newest project, "Conversations," focuses on connections between the elderly and the young, with adult participants between the ages of 63 and 93 plus eight participants between the ages of 8 and 14. "Skateboard meets walker" in nine diverse physical explorations of the collision between the young and the aged.

Collaborators include photographer Suzanne Fogarty, composer Brendan Aanes, and dancers Vanessa Wallen, Nicole Byren, and Ben Estes. Community participants include Dennis Catrell, Clarice Wills, Joe Mosier, Noemi Ban, Ruth Glaser, Harriet Napiecinski, Marion Southcott, and Jan Super.

Tonight at Village Books, hear about Bretz's Flood: The Remarkable Story of a Rebel Geologist and the World's Greatest Flood from author John Soennichsen. This is the dramatic story of the legendary, iconoclastic geologist, J. Harlen Bretz, and how he came to study the region between Idaho and Washington's Cascade Mountains, his radical theory that a huge flood created the area, and how the mainstream geologic community campaigned to derail him from pursuing an idea that satellite photos would confirm decades later.

Fairhaven Runners and Walkers hosts a fun, hearty run in the Chuckanuts. Consider taking in a light breakfast at any one of the cafes in the area, then get yourself to the North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead (on Chuckanut Drive, at the base of California Street, just south of the Fairhaven District) by 9am. Led by Peter, you'll run up Hemlock, over Hush Hush, and down Lost Lake. You should be able to run steadily for 1.5 hours to participate.

Fairhaven Runners & Walkers All Paces Run
A NEW Fairhaven Runners & Walkers free weekly drop-in run, the All Paces Run is to help you get fit, get inspired, and have some fun. The store's staff (Steve, Chad, Lindsay, and Tara) will lead a 30- to 45-minute run, open to all paces--from beginners to veterans--starting from the store on 11th Street. Special prizes and awards will be offered along the runs. After, the store invites participants for a warm drink (winter, colder nights) . On the darker nights, a headlamp or flashlight is recommended.
