Fairhaven Runners & Walkers Training Program for Walkers
Fairhaven Runners & Walkers' eight-week program will prepare walkers for the Waterfront 15K race that begins and ends at the Fairhaven Village Green in September.

Weekly group workouts are at 8am on Saturday mornings, July 26 - September 13. Info and registration at the store and online.

The Honor Day Concert Project is a 6-month series featuring socially conscoius artists and speakers working in support of The Honor Day Foundation.

Tour de Whatcom: Bike for Boys and Girls Clubs
Join Tour de Whatcom, a bike ride to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County. Choose the length of your ride, 20, 46 or 109 miles, perfect for a family outing and serious riders alike. Snacks and drinks will be available at rest stops along the routes. Support vehicles are available if needed.

The rides begin and end at the Village Green. Registration donation varies $25-$45 depending on distance, or $75 for whole family. Go to the Tour de Whatcom web site for the details and links to on-line registration

Fairhaven was famous for this event in the 1980s, and now it's back. Food service is from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, just after the finish of the 15K run. Big neighborhood party, on the Village Green, of course. Menu includes salmon, salad, roll, corn on the cob, beverage and dessert

Fairhaven Runners Waterfront 15K Race
Take part in one of the biggest running events in Bellingham, and one with a huge post-race party at the Fairhaven Village Green. This 9.3-mile loop race features Bellingham Bay's beautiful waterfront trail, with views of the San Juan Islands, Olympic Mountains, and Mount Baker. Finish the USATF-certified course at Fairhaven's Village Green, just a block from the start. Walkers welcome. Presented in partnership with Bellingham Parks & Recreation.

Chuckanut Century Ride for Hospice
The Mount Baker Bicycle Club sponsors this ride in support of the Whatcom Hospice. There is a choice of routes from 25 miles to 124 miles (a metric double century ride), with many riders going through Fairhaven between 7-9am, and later again in the day. More information will be available through the Mt. Baker Bicycle Club soon

October 2008

Halloween in Historic Fairhaven
All sorts of small goblins, princesses, wizards, heroes, animals--and some unidentified creatures--will be swarming the streets of the Historic District during our special event for the little ones. Shops will be decorated for the holiday, and there will be treats for all Downtown Fairhaven.

Fairhaven Holiday Tour d’Art Gallery Walk & Tree Lighting
This is the start of the holidays in the historic district. Gather in the cobblestone walk for the tree lighting at 5:00 pm, followed by a stroll through Fairhaven shops and galleries to see original art displays, enjoy treats and drinks, and find those special artistic gifts
