Meetings

Merchant Meetings
Monthly Merchant meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month, except December, and are open to participation by all members. Discussion items include marketing, events, news, publicity, introductions of new business owners, and often a presentation on a relevant Fairhaven issue. Meetings are held at Village Books in the downstairs author reading area, and start at 9 am sharp, ending just before 10 am so merchants may get their businesses open. Enter through the Colophon Cafe door off the Village Green.

Second Wednesday of each month except no meeting in December.
2010 - Jan 13, Feb 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, Aug 11, Sep 8, Oct 13 and Nov 10.

Board of Directors Meetings
Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 6:15 pm in the community room of the Whidbey Island Bank. Association members are welcome to attend board meetings. In March, the meeting is the annual General Membership meeting and is held at a special venue to be announced.

2010 - Jan 14, Feb 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, Sep 9, Oct 14 and Nov 11.
Thursday, March 11, 2010 - Annual Membership Meeting - 6:00 to 8:00 pm - at The Big Fat Fish restaurant. All members are encouraged to attend. The Board will give their annual report to the members and this is a fun meeting for all. Refreshments will be served.

Any Fairhaven business non-profit organization or interested individual.

What does it Cost?
Annual membership dues are based on number of employees, and individual or business status. Participating in the advertising program is optional ~ however, the more businesses that contribute towards advertising, the better job we can do with exposure for us all! Advertising funds are allocated both locally and regionally.

If you are new to the OFA and joining in a month other than July, we will pr0-rate for the remaining part of the year. For prorated dues, divide the dues rate by 12 and multiply by the remaining number of months in the dues year (July – June). Board of Directors

The board meets monthly and conducts the business of the Association. Election of the board directors by all Association members takes place each November. Directors are elected for two year terms with a portion being elected each year. Currently, there are 14 board members and 3 Ex Officio non-voting members. An election of board members took place on Nov 11, 2009, with the new board members seated in Jan 2010. The next election will take place on the morning of Wednesday, Nov 10, 2010. An Association member interested in election to the Board should check this space in September, 2010 for information.
