The Association is a non-profit corporation, whose purpose is to "... promote Fairhaven as a community while preserving the historical character."

Meetings

Merchant Meetings
Monthly Merchant meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month, except December, and are open to participation by all members. Discussion items include marketing, events, news, publicity, introductions of new business owners, and often a presentation on a relevant Fairhaven issue.

Meetings are held at Village Books, in the downstairs author reading area, and start at 9 am sharp, ending by 10:00 am so merchants may get their businesses open. Enter through the Colophon Cafe door off the Village Green.

- Wednesday, Jan 9, Feb 13, March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, Aug 13, Sep 10, Oct 8 & Nov 12. No meeting in Dec. Election of new Directors during morning of Nov 12.

Board of Directors Meetings
Meetings are on the second Thursday of each month at 6:15 pm at the Village Inn conference room. In March, the meeting is the annual General Membership meeting, held this year at the Lairmont Manor. In May, the meeting is on Wed, May 7 as Girls Night out is on Thurs. In August and December there is no meeting. Association members are welcome to attend board meetings.

Thursday, March 13 - Annual Membership Meeting - 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lairmont Manor in Edgemore. All members are encouraged to attend.
Thursday, April 10, Wednesday, May 7, Thursday, June 12, July 10, Aug no meeting, Sep 11, Oct 9 & Nov 13. Dec no meeting.

Association Membership

The Association sponsors events through the year to attract people to the historic district and to raise funds for district projects and marketing. The Association has beautification projects, such as the hanging flower pots on all the lamp posts and holiday lighting. It works on other projects with the city and property owners to improve the ambience and utility of the district, such as signage, parking, litter control and such.

The Fairhaven Association is a non-profit, all volunteer organization founded in 1973 to promote the Fairhaven area while preserving its historic character. The Fairhaven Association board of directors and members work together year round to promote the success of the district.

Who May Join?

Any business or interested individual is eligible to join the Association.

What does it Cost?

Annual membership dues are $60.00 for a Business and $30.00 for an Individual.

Board of Directors

The board meets monthly and conducts the business of the Association. Election of the board directors by all Association members takes place each November. Directors are elected for two year terms with a portion being elected each year. Currently, there are 19 board members and one Ex Officio non voting member. The next election will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
