Fairhaven on a bright summer morning. We will be adding more photos and creating mouse over code so the names of stores show up. A couple buildings work now.

This photo is looking northwest. At the top of the photo is Bellingham Bay with boats in the shelter of Harris Bay's snug anchorage. Downtown Bellingham is about 2 miles off the top right corner. Chuckanut Drive starts at the very lower left corner. Interstate 5 is a mile to the right.

The Alaska Ferry Columbia leaves Fairhaven Cruise Terminal on this August evening. The ferry sails for Alaska every Friday of the year at 6 pm. First stop is Ketchikan - 37 hours north.

Those white buildings on the waterfront, owned by the Port of Bellingham, are leased by a dozen firms, from a sailmaker to several boat builders and fishing gear suppliers.

The Historic Fairhaven district is seen behind the white waterfront marine industry buildings. Only a short pleasant walk from the Cruise Terminal - the red brick building on the right edge of the photo - the district is the fun place for eating, shopping and ambience.
