It all ends at the Fairhaven Festival ... the 8th leg of the Ski to Sea Race



Sunday, May 30, 2010, from 10 am to 8 pm

Ski to Sea Race Ends in Fairhaven - at the Fairhaven Festival. Each year on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in Bellingham, Washington, there is a race down the snows of Mt Baker, down the mountain highway, down the Nooksack River and across Bellingham Bay to finish on the shores of Fairhaven. And here we have one big fun street party.

Festival schedule on the Streets

10:00 am - Festival begins.
- 25 food booths start serving - ethnic foods, brats, pizza, BBQ - everything you expect to find at a great street party.
- Over 70 arts and crafts booths to browse. On 11th Street, Harris Ave and 10th Street. You'll find fun stuff.

Music on the band stand at 11th & McKenzie
11:15 - Tom Sandborn starts us off on the stage at McKenzie and 11th
12 noon - Badd Dog Blues Society with Fat James
2 pm - Death By Radio
4 pm - Space Band
6 pm to 7:30 - Luke Warm & the Moderates
Beer Garden on McKenzie
12 noon to 6:30 pm serving micro brews, wine and bottled water. $4 tickets for beer or wine or two bottles of water. Only 40 feet from the band stand. Micro brews, domestic, and red or white wines.

Check out the special booths on Harris Ave. Each year we have new fun vendors. maybe some games.


On the Village Green

10 am it all starts. Over 20 Non-Profit organizations have booths on the Village Green. Learn about our community and what is happening.

10 am - pony rides on 10th St next to the Village Green. All day till at least 6 pm.

11 am - Live music from the stage and continues till 5:15 pm.
The music groups, in order of appearance are:
Bellingham Youth Jazz Band
Sehome High School Choir
Squalicum High School Jazz Band
What the Chelm, the popular klezmer band
Bellingham High School Showstoppers
Evolution Trio with their "global fusion basement rock"

Park n Ride

Ask anyone who has used it and they will tell you it works. Just as you think it should.
Buses start running at 11:30 am and last bus leaves Fairhaven at 8:00 pm.
- Drive to Western Washington University parking lot C on 21st Street.
- Park free all day.
- Walk over to the bus stop - you will see a bus waiting.
- Normal bus fees - $1 each way. Buses leave approx every 10 minutes
- 5 minute ride to Fairhaven with drop off at 12th & McKenzie - one short block from the Fest
That easy. Enjoy the fest. When you are ready to leave, go back to 12th & McKenzie
- Buses will pull up about every 10 minutes
- Normal bus fee - $1 for ride back to the parking lot.
- Another quick ride back.
That's it. You have saved so much time and avoided walking blocks uphill to find your car.

Here is everything you need to apply for a vending space at the May 30th, 2010 Fairhaven Festival - where the Ski to Sea Race ends. The festival is held in conjunction with Bellingham's "Ski to Sea" race and typically hosts 35,000 visitors rain or shine. The Old Fairhaven Association, a non-profit organization, sponsors the festival.
