Whew. The six Saturday night movies are over.

Almost 20 Fairhaven businesses helped sponsor the movies, which this website managed. Saturday night, over 500 attended the Harry Potter movie despite rain showers and cool temperatures.

One thing we learned this summer - the Village Green is the finest venue for showing outdoor movies in all of Whatcom County. We just had to learn how to set up for movies, with the speakers hanging from the pergola and the projector on a tall tripod under the pergola so they do not block sight lines to the screen for any in the audience. We used underground tubes for running speaker cables, leaving the grass uncluttered for the audience. The Green is a dream venue when used properly.

I am already planning for summer 2004. I’ve several ideas for making next year better and drawing more people down to the movies on the Green.
