this weekend from the Fairhaven Post Office in Fairhaven Hardware. They contained personal items bound for members of a small unit in Bagdad which has several Whatcom County men and women as members.

Here, Andrea of the Post Office applies the last of over $2,000 in postage to the ‘Apple’ boxes. They are packed with toiletries, lip and skin creams, DVDs, pillows, food and many other personal health and comfort items. KGMI radio helped raise the several thousand dollars and people from all over the county contributed, including several Fairhaven business people. Some merchants gave at-cost discounts and even contributed some items.
