New all-ages toy shop to open<< Back to archives | Monday, April 10, 2006
Opening before the end of April - hopefully - and still undecided about a name (the Wooden Elephant was a working name), three partners plan to open a large toy story in the new Ebenal Fairhaven Gardens building. It will be located kitty corner from Village Books, in the lower of the two large commercial spaces still vacant. Tina Schwindt, Roland Tru’b, and Robin Bigelow are the partners. They will carry toys, games, art supplies, and environmentally friendly products - for all ages. They plan to have many scheduled activities - also for all ages. Toys for all ages. Sounds like fun. With this shop, Fairhaven will have several toy and education-oriented shops, making our Historic District a draw for parents, uncles and aunts and grandparents who are looking for the perfect gift. It coincides with the closing of ToysRUs on the Guide Meridian - putting Fairhaven in the center of local toy shopping. Wild Blueberries on Harris Ave is very popular because of the unique toys for youngsters. Academic Outfitters below 10th on Harris specializes in educational products for school-age kids - with the emphasis on fun educational experiences. Also, both Village Books and Paper Dreams carry lots of toys, games and plush toys. We welcome - uh, the new toy store - to our historic district. |
