Mary A. Stapp, VP of the Artwood Cooperative<< Back to archives | Friday, July 8, 2005
died suddenly this week. She was 83. She was one of the founders of the wood carvers co-op 17 years ago. She was active at the Artwood Gallery, helping Erica often with events, most recently the Gallery Walk three weeks ago. She helped us a lot in Fairhaven. Last November, she helped string the holiday lights in the historic district. She also volunteered as an usher for the outdoor movies. Erica has placed a resume of Mary’s wood carvings in the window at Artwood. Mary taught high school PE in Anacortes for 30 years before turning to wood carving in her retirement. Quite a person. She lived a great life. And lived it to the end. |
