Keith Imus has passed away.

His smiling face and warm personality were a part of the streets of Fairhaven. He was 80 years old and was missing for days at a time this spring. To the end, he had his chipper attitude and a keen interest in what was happening in our little district.

My last conversation with him was while standing near the Village Green a week or more ago as we talked about when Mannino’s restaurant might open. Keith always had an extra bit of news or gossip that he could give me. He loved all that happened in Fairhaven.

Keith knew everyone in Fairhaven and everyone seemed to know him. He built a charming commercial building on Harris Ave that he took care of and loved. He would walk the streets each morning, checking on everything, but mostly just enjoying short chats with all of us who worked in the district.

He was the older brother of Ken and the uncle of Brad and Tim, and all four together were the Imus guys, always working to enhance our historic district.

He will be very much missed by all of us.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, 10:30 am at Jones/Moles Funeral Home, on Lakeway Drive at Yew Street.

You can post a memory or comment on Keith’s page at the Jones/Moles Funeral Home website. You have to navigate to his page, as I cannot link you there directly.
