A sea change in Fairhaven.

Ken Imus has been selling many of his best-known properties and buildings. He has been selling them to young developers who want to build quality developments or renovate to create beautiful and useful historic buildings. As Ken has been doing for over 30 years.

Just over a week ago, Ken sold the Village Books building and the empty lot between 8th and 9th Streets on Harris Avenue. And he closed on the sale of the historic 1890s Waldron building - the three-story never-fully-used building across from Win’s Drive-In.

In talking with Ken, he took to musing about how he has owned some of these for over 30 years. He has faith and hope that the new owners will do his legacy of high standards justice. And he is keeping one key property he hopes to develop - the empty area north of Mill Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets.

I’ll be talking with the new owners and more with Ken about all this and posting here. In the last two years, we have gone from 7 major land owners in Fairhaven to 12. This is indeed a time of change for our Historic District. I will make every effort to keep you informed here.
