The complete mountain bike shop - and they introduced Bellingham to mountain bikes. But also they were the first snowboard dealer in Bellingham and they carry skis for cross country and downhill. They have rental programs and a ski and snowboard half back program for growing kids. And much more. Check their website for a complete listing of their services and products.

What really makes this shop worth your time and money is their staff of professionals. They have many years of combined experience. Owner John Hauter started the store in 1971 and still helps people choose the best bike for their needs. From March through November, the 160 foot long schooner Zodiac sets sail for adventures in the scenic San Juan Islands and beyond. You are invited aboard for day sails, evening sunset sails and several day long trips, including to lower Puget Sound and north to the Canadian Gulf islands and sometimes even further north along the inside passage to Desolation Sound. Check their website for a listing of trips.

Zodiac was launched in 1924 from a harbor in Maine. She has sailed the Atlantic and along the Pacific Coast. For years she was a pilot schooner off San Francisco. For the past 30 some years she has been providing sailing charters in Puget Sound with her base in Seattle. This spring she is transferring her home port to Fairhaven. You can visit and look her over from the Cruise Terminal dock anytime she is not out sailing. Easy to find her with those 127 foot tall masts. She can take 49 people out on a day sail or 26 for overnight sails through the islands.

She has been lovingly restored over the years. The ship is beautiful and it is enjoyable to stroll her deck looking at all the varnished wood and tall masts. She is a treasure and we in Fairhaven are very proud she has found a permanent home here.

Feel free to contact Christine Wallace, first mate and sail master on Zodiac, with any questions you might have about going sailing. You can book a trip with a phone call or an email to Chris.
